Khet Bachao Abhiyan Launch at KVK Howrah

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) inaugurated the "Khet Bachao Abhiyan" – a nationwide drive aimed at revitalising soil health, promoting sustainable farming practices, and boosting farmer prosperity. The launch took place at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Howrah, where agricultural experts, local farmers, and government officials gathered to outline the campaign’s objectives and implementation strategy. Participants were briefed on the importance of soil conservation, modern cultivation techniques, and the role of community participation in achieving long-term agricultural sustainability. The event also highlighted how the initiative will support smallholder farmers by providing access to resources, training, and financial assistance. With a focus on collaborative effort, the launch underscored ICAR’s commitment to fostering resilient agricultural ecosystems across West Bengal and beyond.
