Job Summary

The Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader, reporting directly to the Chief Finance & Operating Officer. Responsibilities include managing the monthly close, maintaining internal controls, overseeing cash‑flow reporting and forecasting, and supporting budgeting and rolling forecasts. The role ensures compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, and partners with department leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights. Key duties involve preparing monthly financial statements, coordinating the annual audit and Form 990, and managing the annual budgeting process. The Controller will also supervise team members handling accounts payable and receivable, and will continually improve the Sage Intacct system and related accounting processes. This position requires strong expertise in nonprofit financial management, grant accounting, and restricted revenue handling, as well as the ability to communicate complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
