Senior Backend Engineer – Customer Focus Group

Job Summary

CommIT is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join its Customer Focus Group (CFG). The CFG team is a hybrid of engineering and commercial functions, responsible for translating customer requirements into product features, building scalable systems, and resolving critical technical challenges. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned backend developer with deep expertise in microservices, API design, and performance optimization. Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript and strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases are essential, as is experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including serverless and managed database services. Beyond technical skills, the role demands a customer‑centric mindset, excellent communication with distributed teams, and a proven track record of delivering high‑volume, scalable solutions in an agile environment. Familiarity with security/app‑security concepts and prior pre‑sales or product‑engineering experience are advantageous.
