Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team in Munich and contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems for a fully battery‑electric aircraft. The candidate will define system‑level requirements, conduct functional analysis, and manage interfaces across multiple aircraft disciplines. They will be responsible for ensuring system maturity throughout the development lifecycle, from initial concept to certification. Key responsibilities include collaborating with design, structures, flight physics, propulsion, and supplier partners; supporting safety assessments and certification activities; and leading the integration of systems such as environmental control, landing gear, and ice protection. The role demands a deep understanding of aircraft regulations (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25) and experience in EASA Part 21J or equivalent organizations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned aerospace engineer with at least eight years of experience in aircraft mechanical systems, expertise in systems engineering, and a passion for the electrification of flight. Strong communication skills in English and an ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, innovative environment are essential.
