Software Engineer – Edge & Cloud (m/w/d)

Job Summary

1KOMMA5° is building an integrated energy management platform that combines solar, storage, heat pumps and e‑mobility. The role focuses on full‑stack development from edge gateways to cloud services, using Go for high‑performance system services and Lua for lightweight control scripts. You will design and implement communication protocols (MQTT, REST/gRPC, Modbus TCP/RTU) and develop microservices that process time‑series data and support fleet management across hundreds of customer sites. The position requires close collaboration with system architects, PLC developers and product managers in an agile, cross‑functional team. You’ll be responsible for delivering new features quickly and ensuring seamless integration between local hardware and the virtual power plant. Successful candidates will have a degree in computer science or equivalent, strong Go and Lua programming skills, and experience with cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of IoT and edge computing on Linux platforms is essential, as is familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
