The West Bengal Health Department has announced a separate investigation into the RG Kar case, two years after the initial probe. The new inquiry will scrutinise allegations of mismanagement and corruption that emerged during the earlier investigation. Health officials said the investigation will be conducted by independent experts to ensure impartiality and transparency.
The announcement comes amid rising public scrutiny over the handling of the RG Kar controversy. Authorities highlighted that the separate probe is intended to address gaps identified in the first inquiry and to restore confidence in the state's health administration.
The department will release a detailed report upon completion of the investigation, with the aim of clarifying the facts and recommending necessary actions. The move reflects the government’s commitment to accountability in public health matters.
