Bengal to Audits Old Industrial Parks, Plan BHAVYA Proposals by August

The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Tapas Roy, announced that the state will conduct a comprehensive audit of existing industrial parks and submit proposals for the BHAVYA scheme by the end of August. The audit aims to assess the current infrastructure, usage, and potential for redevelopment. The proposals will outline strategies to revitalize these sites, attract investment, and support economic growth. The initiative is part of a broader effort to modernise industrial infrastructure across the state.

Chief Minister Tapas Roy confirmed that the Government of West Bengal will carry out a full audit of all older industrial parks in the state. The review is intended to evaluate the current condition, occupancy levels and future potential of these sites.

Following the audit, the state will prepare and submit proposals under the BHAVYA scheme, a plan designed to rejuvenate industrial infrastructure and foster new investment. The proposals are expected to be filed by the end of August.

The initiative is aimed at turning underutilised industrial areas into productive hubs that can generate employment and support regional economic development. By modernising infrastructure and streamlining investment processes, the government hopes to attract both domestic and foreign investment.

The audit and subsequent proposals form part of the state’s broader strategy to upgrade industrial capacities and improve the business environment for manufacturers and entrepreneurs across West Bengal.
