The BJP has announced that it will kick off a month‑long Seva Sankalp (Service Vow) campaign on September 17, coinciding with the 25th year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration. The initiative will see party units across India organising voluntary service projects, ranging from community clean‑ups to educational outreach. In West Bengal, local BJP leaders are preparing to mobilise volunteers, especially in urban and rural areas of Kolkata and surrounding districts. The party intends to use this period to highlight its developmental achievements and reinforce its connection with the electorate. Citizens are encouraged to register for service activities through party channels and social media.
The Seva Sankalp campaign is positioned as a tribute to Modi’s tenure, with promises of new projects and infrastructure upgrades. Party officials have stated that the program will not be limited to political messaging but will focus on tangible community benefits. The launch will be marked by a press conference in New Delhi, followed by a series of local events across the state.
Observers note that similar volunteer drives have been used by opposition parties in the past to rally support, and the BJP’s timing aims to strengthen its position ahead of upcoming local elections. The campaign will run for 30 days, concluding at the end of October.
