Aditya Narayan Mishra, who previously headed the District Union of Teachers Association (DUTA), took the oath of allegiance with the Indian National Congress in Delhi today.

The event was attended by senior Congress leaders such as Qazi Nizamuddin, the Delhi Congress in‑charge, and Devender Yadav, the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president. Rajendra Pal Gautam, the AICC Uttar Pradesh in‑charge, also addressed the gathering.

During his speech, Mishra underscored what he termed a ‘crisis’ in the education system, calling for comprehensive reforms in teacher recruitment, curriculum standards and school infrastructure. He expressed confidence that the Congress party would prioritize these issues.

Mishra’s shift to the Congress marks a notable change in the political landscape of West Bengal’s education sector, as he brings his experience and concerns to the party’s national platform.
