Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that a small portion of applicants under the Citizenship Amendment Act has now received citizenship status. "Only 10% of the CAA applicants have been granted citizenship," he said, adding that the state is in the process of evaluating the remaining cases.

The statement was made during a public briefing in Kolkata, with the CM highlighting the administrative steps taken to expedite the process for the initial batch. He emphasized that the government remains committed to resolving the pending applications in a timely manner.

Adhikari underscored that the decision on the remaining 90% of applicants is forthcoming, and the state will soon release further details on the criteria and timeline for those cases.
