BJP to Contest Kolkata, Howrah Civic Elections Solo, Hints at NCPI Alliance
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced that it will field candidates alone in the upcoming municipal elections of Kolkata and Howrah. The party also signaled a possible partnership with the New Communist Party of India (NCPI) for the polls. The decision comes as both cities prepare for elections that will decide local governance and key administrative positions. Analysts note that the BJP’s solo entry could reshape the electoral landscape in West Bengal’s major urban centers.
